  • Advised Equitable Prosperity Manager in the formation of one of the largest BIPOC-led impact investing funds, with commitments of approximately $170M. The fund’s investments are intended to help growth-stage companies create more social impact in their communities, focusing on outcomes such as increasing access to healthcare and healthy foods, while supporting employee ownership and diverse entrepreneurs. 
  • As part of our commitment to help increase access and opportunity for Black-owned startups, Pillsbury formed the Black-Owned Startup Support (BOSS) Lab to address the systemic inequities that have resulted in Black founders representing only 1% of venture-backed startups.
  • Represented Chanel for its first investment in a renewable energy transaction, funding $80 million in solar plus battery storage projects for low-income, multifamily housing.

  • Represented NextEra in connection with its $1 billion+ acquisition of Trans Bay Cable, a 53-mile, high-voltage direct current underwater transmission cable system that supplies 40 percent of the electricity consumed in the city of San Francisco generated largely from wind and solar renewable electric power generating facilities.
  • Represented CMS Enterprises in the purchase of the majority 51 percent stake in Aviator Wind Holdings, LLC, from Ares Management Corp.’s Infrastructure and Power division. Located in northwest Texas, Aviator Wind is the largest single-phase wind project in the ERCOT area and the largest single-phase, single-site onshore wind project in the United States, consisting of 191 wind turbines and a total power output of approximately 525 MW.
  • Representing TC Energy in a strategic deal with Nikola Corporation focused on leveraging TC Energy’s existing pipeline and electrical infrastructure to develop clean hydrogen production hubs, deliver low-cost and low-carbon hydrogen at scale, and facilitate greater adoption of heavy-duty zero-emission fuel-cell electric vehicles and hydrogen across various industrial sectors.
  • Advised Concentric Educational Solutions, the leading Black-owned education support system that partners with schools to offer resources to address barriers impacting students, families and staff, in its recent $5 million Series A funding round.
  • Represented San Francisco-based food technology company Eat Just, Inc. in its $200 million funding round to build a healthier, more sustainable food system. The funding round was led by the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), the sovereign wealth fund of the State of Qatar; joined by private investment firm Charlesbank Capital Partners and Vulcan Capital, the investment arm of the estate of Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Paul G. Allen.
  • Represented Accelerated Infection Protection Technologies, Inc. (AIPT) in the development of a new intervention product specifically designed to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
  • Advised private investment firm McWin Capital Partners in participating as an investor in a recent Series B investment round for vertical farming company Oishii, which raised $134 million toward opening a solar-powered vertical farming facility.
