Pillsbury advised 92 Ventures, a Copenhagen-based nuclear-focused investment firm, in leading a €22 million funding round for Steady Energy, a Finnish innovator in small modular reactor (SMR) solutions.

92 Ventures forms strategic partnerships with companies leading advancements in reactor designs, next-gen nuclear fuels, fuel cycle breakthroughs, digitalization, supply chain optimization, and advanced manufacturing through investment, research, consulting and advocacy.

The investment in Steady Energy highlights strong private-sector confidence in the company and its SMR design, which aims to deliver affordable, zero-emission heat to Europe and beyond. This funding is also expected to kickstart the construction of a full-scale pilot plant in the second half of this year, according to a press release.

Additionally, the investment demonstrates the transformative potential of nuclear energy to expand beyond the electricity sector and into areas like district and industrial heating to enable deep decarbonization.
