Nathan Renov advises clients on all aspects of intellectual property protection in a variety of technologies and industries.
Nathan’s practice focuses on patent portfolio development and management, IP counseling, litigation, post-grant proceedings and opinion work. He represents clients in an array of industries with particular focus on software, software-integrated hardware systems, cybersecurity, cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies, mobile communication, systems and network infrastructure, financial management, e-commerce and mobile application integration. In addition, Nathan handles matters in search optimization, mobile payment, linguistic and textual analysis, software-integrated medical devices along with Graphical User Interface (GUI) design and functionality.

Nathan advised clients of all sizes, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, handling all aspects of patent portfolio development and management, from preparation to prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications. He also advises clients in IP best practices, litigation and dispute resolution strategy relating to patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret matters as well as represents and advises clients regarding various post-grant proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including inter partes review, post-grant review and covered business method review.
Nathan also has extensive experience advising clients in design patent protection with a particular expertise in GUI design patents.
Prior to entering the legal field, Nathan practiced as an electrical engineer at a consulting engineering firm, where he designed power, fire alarm and lighting systems for integration in the construction of new and refitted commercial and corporate spaces. Nathan was also a consultant at an investment banking firm, where he researched emerging technology for potential investment opportunities.
