Mark Booth advises clients on data privacy, IP/IT, advertising and marketing, product claims, contracts, regulatory issues, and international trade.
Mark has experience advising a range of clients on different regulatory and compliance matters, with a particular focus on data protection and marketing. Mark has experience in drafting various data protection policies, cookie notices, data processing and data transfer agreements and has worked on data protection impact assessments and responses to data subject requests. Mark has also been involved in various due diligence exercises, assessing acquisition target’s compliance frameworks.
On the regulatory side Mark has prior experience of advising on financial regulations, including dealing with the Financial Conduct Authority and regulations for retail financial service providers. Mark also advises on international trade matters, including in relation to sanctions imposed by the UN, UK and EU.

The EU’s AI Act: A Review of the World’s First Comprehensive Law on Artificial Intelligence and What This Means for EU and Non-EU Companies
The agreed text of the AI Act was published on July 12, 2024, essentially starting the clock on the legal deadlines contained in it. Its obligations will apply in tiered phases, with the first key obligations being enforced beginning February 2, 2025.
