San Diego managing partner Callie Bjurstrom has again been named a Top Intellectual Property Litigator by the Daily Journal in their annual IP supplement. This marks Bjurstrom’s third inclusion on the list. Bjurstrom is one of just a handful of California attorneys to receive this prestigious recognition.

“I love learning new and interesting technologies,” she said. “I also love the challenge of taking something incredibly complex and finding a way to make it understandable to the average person.”

Bjurstrom recently served as the lead trial attorney for a well-known medical device company in Southern California in two high profile cases, both of which were against the same competitor, for patent infringement and misappropriation of trade secrets, as reported by the Daily Journal.

Notably, both cases related to the development of her client’s best-in-class products used to access and treat neurovascular diseases of the brain.

Describing the outcome of these cases, she said, “After years of contentious litigation, and on the eve of trial, we were able to secure a fantastic settlement of both cases against the competitor for our client. We were also able to secure a consent judgement and permanent injunction, among other things, against our client’s former employees.”

A tenacious client advocate, Bjurstrom has successfully tried cases to verdict as lead counsel in both state and federal courts, as well as represented clients before the International Trade Commission. She litigates patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, unfair competition, and other bet-the-company disputes. Bjurstrom skillfully protects her clients’ IP rights in such diverse industries as medical devices, telecommunications, gaming, manufacturing, consumer products and hospitality.
