Barbra Kim guides her clients through complex regulatory and policy challenges in international trade and national security.
With prior experience in the U.S. intelligence community and the Department of State, Barbra specializes in sanctions, export controls and national security matters. She advises U.S. and global companies on compliance with international trade laws and represents clients before various U.S. government agencies. Barbra also has experience counseling on matters before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Barbra stays active in pro bono work, supporting veterans and advocating for the wrongfully accused. She previously practiced as an international trade and national security attorney at another leading global law firm
Representative Experience
- Advises global satellite company on compliance with ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations, including obtaining numerous authorizations from DDTC, BIS and OFAC.
- Successfully obtained CFIUS clearance representing the seller of physical security solutions in connection with the sale of its assets to a European-owned security solutions provider.
- Advised Silicon Valley-based company on the negotiation of a complex and intricate mitigation agreement with CFIUS.
