Andrew Wu focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters.
Andrew represents companies in high-stakes contract and commercial disputes in a variety of industries, including the consumer products, retail, financial services and technology industries. He has successfully handled matters in state and federal court involving contractual disputes, business torts and trade secrets misappropriation, among other matters. Andrew also defends against consumer class actions involving claims of false advertising, unfair competition, consumer fraud and claims arising under federal and state privacy laws.

Andrew is experienced in all phases of litigation, including initial case assessment, managing discovery, drafting and arguing motions, and participating in trial. His trial experience includes witness preparation, conducting direct examination, preparing cross-examinations and substantive trial briefing.
Prior to joining Pillsbury, Andrew was an associate at an international law firm.

- Trial counsel for company sued for more than $50 million in alleged environmental cleanup costs. Plaintiffs’ claims were based entirely on corporate alter ego and successor liability theories. Judgment for client following four-week trial in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California.
- Represented semiconductor materials company in patent licensing dispute, including drafting successful reconsideration motion resulting in protection of client’s trade secrets and other complex filings.
- Represented fast-food company in several high-stakes matters, including successfully dismissing former franchisees’ putative class action alleging over $1 billion in contract damages.

- Represented insurance company in trade secret misappropriation action against former executives and competitor, including drafting dispositive motions and assisting with key witness depositions.
- Represented leading Silicon Valley technology company in commercial disputes, including drafting dispositive motions and successfully dismissing putative consumer wiretapping class action.
- Represented leading technology company in renewable energy purchasing dispute, including successfully enforcing forum selection clause to avoid forum shopping by the plaintiffs.
- Represented public university in mask manufacturing dispute, including obtaining reversal of trial court’s denial of motion to quash service of summons with respect to certain defendants.
- Served as lead associate for West Coast litigation docket for national food distribution company, including managing active matters across different jurisdictions, handling all phases of discovery and negotiating favorable settlements.
- Defended media company in various civil actions, including handling all discovery matters and first-chairing mediations resulting in favorable settlements.
