Celebrating its 16th Annual Gala and Dinner, the Turnaround Atlas Awards honored Pillsbury with the Cross-Border Restructuring Award (Lower-Middle Market) for its successful representation of debtor Rockley Photonics Holdings Ltd. The Turnaround Atlas Awards honor the best value-creating transactions, outstanding firms, professionals and leaders from the global restructuring, insolvency and distressed investing communities.
The chapter 11 case, which was filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, resulted in a prepackaged plan that was confirmed by the court following a confirmation hearing contested by certain of Rockley’s existing public shareholders a mere 46 days after commencement. The successful plan allowed the company to go private and restructure its business through transactions that eliminated more than $120 million of secured debt and generated approximately $35 million in new funding from existing secured noteholders.
The Pillsbury team was led by Insolvency & Restructuring partners Joshua Morse, Dania Slim, and John Pintarelli and included special counsel Jonathan Doolittle and associates Kwame Akuffo and Alana Lyman.
Pillsbury Insolvency & Restructuring lawyers devise cutting-edge solutions for banks and other financial institutions, secured and unsecured creditors, debtors and borrowers, indenture trustees, distressed investors and other interested parties. The team deftly navigates clients through business cycles, bankruptcies, complex restructurings and workouts and has extensive experience in handling chapter 11 cases, pre-arranged and pre-packaged bankruptcies, out-of-court restructurings, distressed M&As, capital raising and refinancings, recapitalizations and asset sales.
