As part of President Trump’s recent flurry of executive orders, the administration is aiming to reduce diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs in government agencies and contracts, as well as in the private sector, with enforcement pressure for non-compliance.
While some businesses and organizations have opted for the wait-and-see approach, despite the threats of enforcement, Government Law & Strategies partner Craig Saperstein told Government Executive that companies should be reviewing policies and talking to their legal counsel.
During a recent session of Pillsbury’s DC Disrupted webinar series, Saperstein added: “This is a pretty sweeping executive order, and it’s something that, whether you’re a company, whether you’re a nonprofit, whether you’re a college or university, you need to be taking a look at your policies.”
