While the Trump administration has suggested that it will take a friendlier approach to cryptocurrencies, most observers do not think that the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission’s enforcement actions against digital assets will simply grind to a halt, according to an article in Law360.
In fact, Litigation partner Adam Goldberg noted that there are few instances where a change in administration resulted in requests to dismiss ongoing lawsuits. “How does the change in administration affect ongoing litigation? Answer is, it almost never does,” he said.
He added that, while it’s possible that ongoing cases could be dropped or brought to a quick resolution through settlement, agency heads generally don’t often get under the hood of day-to-day litigation decisions.
