The European Commission’s “Omnibus” package proposed changes to key EU sustainability laws to reduce regulatory burdens on businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, while still supporting the European Green Deal. The goal is to make sustainability compliance simpler and less costly, potentially saving businesses up to €6 billion annually.
In a recent article by Pillsbury senior associate Iris Karaman and associate Kate Chan, the authors explore both the strengths and challenges of the key changes included in the package proposal, as well as the impact on companies that have already invested in compliance efforts.
