Marking a decade of successful growth in 2024, Pillsbury’s Austin office has announced its relocation next year to The Republic, the city’s newest and tallest office tower. The firm has secured a full-floor lease at the 48-story skyscraper located at 401 West Fourth Street in downtown Austin. With 33 attorneys in Austin, the team is set to transition to their new office space—encompassing 28,000 square feet on the 32nd floor—in the summer of 2025.

The move, which follows the recent relocation of Pillsbury’s 35-attorney Houston office to a marquee property in that city, reinforces Pillsbury’s dedication to Austin and its growing role in serving the legal needs of the accelerating Texas technology market.

“We’re excited to relocate into The Republic, which offers a prime location, top-line amenities and an overall more modern environment that better aligns with our sophisticated clients,” said Pillsbury Austin office managing partner Ed Cavazos. “This move reflects our commitment to Austin, our people here and the many exciting tech companies that call this city home.”

Pillsbury’s Austin office represents all types of businesses, with an emphasis on assisting technology companies and investors. Lawyers there help clients with startup investments and venture financings, the protection and defense of intellectual property, cybersecurity, mergers & acquisitions, commercial disputes, international expansion, tech transactions, and other critical issues faced by private or public companies.

The firm’s Texas offices have experienced significant growth in the recent years, including the recent additions of Construction litigator Derrick Carson (Houston); Emerging Companies & Venture Capital partner Andy Smetana (Austin) and counsel Margarita Kelrikh (Houston); patent prosecution partner Chris Drymalla (Austin); cross-border Litigation partner Willie Wood (Houston); energy-focused Corporate senior counsel Ben Clark (Houston); Environmental & Natural Resources special counsel Jillian Marullo (Houston), and capital markets and M&A special counsel Danielle de Zorzi
