Pillsbury is advising EMCORE Corporation, a provider of inertial navigation solutions to the aerospace and defense industry, on its merger with newly formed aerospace manufacturing holding company Velocity One.

The deal, which is backed by private investment firm Charlesbank Capital Partners, will result in EMCORE joining fellow aerospace component manufacturers Cartridge Actuated Devices, Inc. and Aerosphere Power as wholly owned subsidiaries of Velocity One through this take-private transaction, establishing the new company as an emerging force in the aerospace and defense industry.
