Nada Hachem focuses her practice on sanctions, corporate, commercial and transactional law, with particular experience in intellectual property matters and the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sectors.

Nada has advised both startups and leading companies on structuring, negotiating, reviewing and drafting complex cross-border transactions and acquisitions. Her practice also includes significant focus on corporate compliance matters. Notably, Nada has successfully led efforts to reverse a World Bank Group debarment and petitioned the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) for removal from the Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list. She also brings extensive knowledge of Middle East-related legal, regulatory and business matters across a range of industries.

  • Represented a group of companies owned by a high-net-worth individual on a portfolio of global investments and acquisitions in the tech industry.
  • Secured a favorable settlement for a U.S.-based refugee in cross-border litigation involving false imprisonment by foreign officials.
  • Challenged OFAC’s designation of high-ranking foreign officials and subsequent accusations of corruption and illicit conduct.

  • Worked on the defense of Middle Eastern charitable organizations in multidistrict litigation relating to alleged violations of the Anti-Terrorism Act and other intentional tort claims.
  • Led the successful defense of a Middle Eastern construction company resulting in the removal of World Bank sanctions.
  • Advised a high-net-worth investor on the $200 million redemption of convertible bonds into direct acquisition of 25 land plots within a 1 million square meter real estate development in Lebanon.

  • Counseled a regional airline on aircraft connectivity agreements involving Egyptian regulators.
  • Represented the MENA region’s first online streaming platform in a strategic joint venture with a Kuwaiti telecom systems integrator.
  • Represented a consumer electronics startup in drafting and negotiating MENA-wide commercial distribution and agency agreements for the region’s first electronic shisha.
